VIX

~30 days before SPX expiry (usually Wed) - Special expiration structure for volatility options.

Common Questions

1When exactly do options expire?

Last trading day is Friday 4:00 PM ET. Technically options expire Saturday, but after Friday close no positions can be closed.

2What does Max Pain mean?

Max Pain is the strike price where option holders would experience maximum loss. Price often gravitates toward this level at expiration.

3How to interpret Put/Call Ratio?

Ratio > 1 = more puts (bearish), < 0.7 = more calls (bullish). Neutral ratio is between 0.7-1.0.
