F&O turnover calculator

Turnover for tax purposes is not your trading volume. It is the sum of the absolute profit or loss of every closed trade. This tool works it out and checks whether a tax audit is likely.

Add up each closed trade's profit or loss from your broker's tax P&L. Assumes all receipts and payments are digital, as for exchange-traded F&O.

A tax audit is likely to be required

Turnover is within the ₹3 crore presumptive limit, profit is below 6% of turnover and total income is above the basic exemption limit. Under the Income-tax Act, 2025 some experts read the presumptive taxation section as requiring an audit in this case even without a past opt-out, and no official clarification has settled it. Treat an audit as likely and confirm with a chartered accountant.

General information, not tax advice. The rules changed with the Income-tax Act, 2025 and some points are unsettled; confirm with a chartered accountant before filing.
