About Upstox
Upstox was co-founded by Ravi Kumar, Kavitha Subramanian and Shrini Viswanath, and received its licence to begin trading in India in 2010.
Broking is done by Upstox Securities Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of RKSV Securities India Private Limited. Its registered office is in New Delhi and its correspondence office in Mumbai.
Upstox offers the Upstox app and the Upstox Pro platform, and is a CDSL depository participant (IN-DP-761-2024).

Opening an account
- Register on the Upstox app or website with your mobile number and email ID.
- PAN and Aadhaar are required; you enter your details and complete selfie verification.
- The application is e-signed with an OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Upstox states accounts are usually activated within 24 to 48 hours after its team verifies the details.
